The first session was kicked–off by Joe Moore, President of the International Health, Rcaquet and Sportsclub Association who, while encrouaged by the recent grouth of the industry, warned fitness professionals that the industry is experiencing massive transformation, driven by rapid introduction of technology.

That fitness technology is significantly altering the fitness industry and we must adapt to these changes in order to best serve our memebrs and clients.

99% of people think about things that will disappear when they think about the future.

In a rousing presentation that brought the audience to their feet for a standing ovation, Magnus Lindkvist told attendees that the way to succeed in business is to create ” not compete. He noted that when businesses simply compete, they tend to all look the same.

If you want to create rather than compete:

  • Look for secrets. Good innovators find secrets.

  • Experiment. Companies go bad by doing the right thing for too long. Good ideas that go bad over time take down successful companies.

  • Be patient and persistent. Your ideas may not be accepted right away. What doesn't work in one place may work someplace else.

TechoGym made a whirlwind of announcements at the IHRSA 2015 show
including it's Let's Move for a Better World challenge.

At the center of TechnoGym's fitness technology offering is mywellness cloud.

At IHRSA 2015 TechnoGym announced that mywellness cloud is not intergrated with Apple''s Healthkit.

Prior to IHRSA TechnoGym integrated with the Samsung Galaxy S6.


FreeMotion showed off it's i119 Incline Trainer in a group–x setting powered by iFIT.

iFIT offers what is quite possibly the most comprehensive fitness technology platform including; an app, wearables, integrated with both club (FreeMotion, etc.) and home (Nordictrack) equipment, enabling customized workouts, online streaming classes, interactive fitness (powered by Google Street View) and a dashboard that helps you collect, organize and analyze all your workouts in one place.

Creating New Opportunities Through Technology

Brian O'Rourke, President of the Fitness Industry Technology Council (FIT-C), demonstrated how clubs can utilize technology to drive online and mobile membership sales and service.

Other topics included the use of technology to increase training revenues and improving retention. Also, Bryan discussed how to create anciliary revenue with technology.

Most importantly, Bryan showed hot to utilized technology to enhance the member expereince.

He currently lives in Southern California.
